Description
Isophthalic acid is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid industrially produced by the oxidation of m-xylene. Commercially, it is used primarily as a component of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) copolymer, which is used in bottle resins and, to a much lesser extent, for fibers.
